IN the final episode of the series, a spaniel is suffering from lameness and Fitzpatrick discovers he has a collapsed disc and severe elbow arthritis. Meanwhile, there is an emergency admission when a 15-month-old dachshund arrives with a mystery brain condition. When his condition rapidly deteriorates overnight, suddenly the life of this much-loved young dog hangs in the balance.

A CENTURY ago, Londoner Jack Cohen founded what would become one of the UK’s most successful supermarket chains. But just how do the people behind the scenes keep this multi-million-pound operation going? Now there’s a chance to find out as Fiona Phillips sees what makes the brand tick. She talks to former employees, rival executives and retail experts to tell the story behind the company. There’s also a look at Tesco’s ups and downs in recent years as stories behind headlines regarding the supermarket are discussed by staff.

Caden finds Orla to warn her that she may be caught in the crossfire, her secrets deployed as ammunition against Caden. Max conducts a root-and-branch reform of his newspapers, but how will he deal with the threat posed by Kathryn and Caden? Starring Richard Gere, Helen McCrory and Billy Howle.
The Bay, STV, 9pm
NOW that comparisons with that other seaside murder mystery Broadchurch have died down, Morven Christie’s drama has become compelling viewing for millions. We’re now up to episode four, and with Nick recovering from his injuries in hospital, a furious Lisa tracks down Sean, while Med feels increasingly put out. The team suspects Nick could have crucial information about Holly and Dylan. Elsewhere Rob discovers that leaving the online forum is not as easy as he had hoped, and Sam attempts to give Abbie a way out from Vincent.

We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
