DONALD Blair’s very interesting account of the problems faced by Scotland’s whisky industry cites a book, in highly laudatory terms, that I co-wrote with Hugh Pym on the Guinness scandal. But he omits to mention the other author, namely myself!

The Guinness Affair was indeed an important investigation by the two of us whose implications, Mr Blair notes, persist to this day!

While Hugh commentates on the country’s Covid crisis as the BBC’s health editor, I toil away at investigating economic crime, in particular money-laundering and fraud. The Guinness affair is an early example of such a crime.

Readers who wish to know more about money-laundering may wish to see my book, The Washing Machine.

I would be grateful if you might share this with your readers.
