IT was supposed to be the draw of the summer.
Ruth Davidson, Andrew Neil, a free copy of her book and at £42 a ticket, absolutely no riff raff.
The magazine were expecting tickets to see the Scots Tory chief to sell like hot cakes.
Instead, they've seemingly sold more like stale, old, past their sell by-date, plain scones.
The Spectator are now so desperate they've resorted to giving the tickets away for free if you pay £12 for a subscription.
Yes She Can: Ruth Davidson In Conversation With Andrew Neil was meant to help launch her new book.
One cheeky chappie in the SNP, keen to keep in with the baked goods theme, told the Jouker: "This is highly revealing and embarrassing for Ruth Davidson, with ticket prices being slashed for her own book launch.
"It's less 'yes, she can' for Ruth Davidson and more 'no, we can't be bothered' - even metropolitan pundits so keen to promote her as the best thing since sliced bread can't be bothered to go and see her."
Promoting the event, the Spectator wrote: "This very personal book is based on interviews conducted with the women who have inspired Ruth Davidson – women from all backgrounds, cultures and professions.
"Through interviews conducted by Ruth herself these women deliver their stories, life lessons and insights into how they got to where they are today.
"Interwoven with Ruth’s own story and interpretations, this is a book to inspire women through the generations to come."
It's just a pity there will be so few people there to hear Davidson pressed on Scottish Tory dark money by Neil – which, as a hard-hitting journalist, we're sure he will do...
