A SCOTTISH Highland hotel known for being the first in the UK to be 100% vegan has been put on the market.

Saorsa 1875, in Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, has been put up for sale as the current owners look to “pursue overseas business interests,” according to agents Graham and Sibbald.

Alistair Letham, a hotel and leisure consultant with the firm, commented: “Saorsa 1875 is an exceptional hotel delightfully refurbished to a great boutique hotel standard in a wonderful trading location.

“The current business model sets Saorsa 1875 on its own pedestal and new owners can continue and expand on what has been created with the vegan business; or very easily open out the business to a wider offering.”

The National:

According to Saorsa's website, the hotel offers tasting menus which are "completely plant-based and showcase local, seasonal, and foraged produce".

The 19th-century hotel, which is on Pitlochry’s East Moulin Road, has 11 bedrooms and 1.8 acres of land.

It was first set up in 2018 and has "excellent" bookings through 2024 already, according to the property agents.

The listing further states: “The hotel features a lounge bar, snug/private dining room and restaurant.

“The mature gardens feature short, relaxing woodland walks and hideaways to relax in. There is also a large yurt, ideal for yoga and wellness retreats and other private functions.”

Graham and Sibbald are inviting offers “around £950,000” for Saorsa 1875.
