PRESENTER Sangita Myska has been removed from her post after speculation of Israel's involvement after a hard-hitting interview with the country's government spokesperson.

Radio host Myska is set to leave LBC after the broadcaster confirmed she is departing the channel as part of a schedule shake-up.

The news follows speculation from listeners that she had been taken off-air by the bosses from parent company Global after her tense interview with Israeli government spokesperson Avi Hyman.

The former BBC journalist has not hosted her weekend phone-in show since April 14 and has been replaced by ex-Tory candidate Ali Miraj.

During her interview with the Israeli spokesperson Hyman he was visibly agitated by the host's line of questioning about Israel's escalation with Iran.

Hyman called her questions “outrageous” during the interview multiple times and was seen to be visibly flustered.

Myska’s disappearance from LBC’s airwaves raised a lot of questions from listeners about Israel's potential influence on the decision of her departure.

There has been an outpouring of support for the award-winning podcast host as a petition launched online has more than 27,000 signatures calling for her to be reinstated.

However, Global bosses have decided to replace Myska as LBC's senior managing editor Tom Cheal confirmed her departure.

He said: "We'd like to thank Sangita for her fantastic contribution to LBC and wish her every success in the future."

Global announced on Wednesday the lineup change was “part of a refreshed weekend schedule”.

Vanessa Feltz is among the new hosts being added to the weekend roster after she left Talk TV.

Feltz's first show on LBC will be May 4, and isn’t a direct replacement of Myska, as she has a different time slot.

In a statement, she said: "After a long and passionate courtship, I've finally succumbed to the allure of LBC.

“Actually, I was powerless to resist.

"Global's dynamism is mesmerising and it is THE high-octane station from which to broadcast, in this riveting election year.

“I can't wait to join the Global family and get cracking. Brace yourself for May 4th - May the fourth be with you!"

Feltz left Talk TV last month following the announcement that the channel was moving online.
