A CONCERT featuring a star-studded lineup of Scottish artists is being held to raise money for a charity to help Palestinians.
The Glasgow Gig for Gaza will be held at the Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday, May 1, at 7pm and is headlined by pop-rock band Deacon Blue.
The line-up also consists of folk music royalty Capercaillie and former frontman of Love and Money James Grant is also set to join an array of other Scottish artists as they band together to show solidarity for Palestinians.
All profits from the concert will go to the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), which provides essential medical services, and advocates for Palestinians' human rights and dignity.

MAP is the same charity for whom readers of The National recently helped raise more than £100,000.

Lorraine McIntosh of Deacon Blue had previously said: “Since the awful events of October 7, we have looked on in growing horror at the destruction of Gaza and its infrastructure and the senseless death of over 30,000 innocent people.
“The only thing we can do to help in any small way is to raise money.
“With the destruction of practically all medical facilities in Gaza, we have chosen to support the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians who have a long history of delivering emergency healthcare to the people on the ground in Gaza where help is needed most.
“Our decision in no way lessons our horror at what happened on October 7 and we join millions around the world in calling for an immediate ceasefire and the release of all hostages.”

Siobhan Miller, a leading talent in the contemporary Scottish folk scene will also be playing, along with award-winning jazz vocalist Kitti.
Contemporary folk band Rura will be making an appearance, as well as electric indie folk act Admiral Fallow, and legendary fiddle player Duncan Chisholm.
Jim Mackintosh and Julie MacNeill will read poetry from poets still currently in Gaza along with their own material.
Piper Ross Ainslie will also be playing.
