SCOTS beer brand Brewgooder is to hit the shelves of almost 500 Tesco branches.
The brand’s biggest ever listing, the deal will help the not-for-profit enterprise to deliver clean water access to people in Ghana and follows existing agreements with Asda and the Co-op.
Brewgooder has already helped more than 40,000 people in Malawi and aims to hit 100,000 be the end of next year. It says its overall mission is to benefit as many as one million people.
Founder Alan Mahon said: “Our journey so far has
been incredible – growing from a team of one to seven
in two years, brewing and selling [more than] one million cans and half a million pints of our lager and achieving listings with some of the UK’s biggest retailers.
He added: “It’s because
of our loyal drinkers and retailer support that we’re now able to look at
extending our operations into Ghana and work to bring clean water to even more people across the world.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
