HE has been a campaigner for independence and land reform for decades and since the 2014 referendum, solicitor Graeme McCormick (pictured) has devised a model of public funding from land and the built environment which can replace all existing UK, Scottish and local taxes.

A perfect exemplar of the Yes DIY spirit, for the past 18 months Graeme McCormick has presented his proposals around the country and has refined them in response to the comments made at each event.

He has updated his model to include a Universal Citizen’s Income of £200 per week for everyone in Scotland, while making Scotland an engine of enterprise and ambition and a true property-owning democracy.

Now McCormick is set to tell the people of Dundee all about his plans for land and tax reform at an event organised by the Dundonian Common Weal group – full details on Eventbrite.

They told The National: “His proposals are gaining widespread support among independence supporters as they wrest control of our economy from Westminster even under the current Devolution Settlement.”
