THE Scottish Children’s Services Coalition is pleased to support today’s Care Day, the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with care experience, and we would urge everyone, whether they are care-experienced or not, to get involved.

Led by one of our members, Who Cares? Scotland, this Care Day will see organisations from across the UK and Ireland come together to celebrate children and young people with care experience. The theme this year is “get vocal, get social, or get together” in celebration of the care-experienced community.

Improving the lives of looked-after children is a desire that transcends party lines, and days such as today go a long way in helping the general public become more informed about the lives of care-experienced young people and the hurdles they face.

That is why it is so important for us all to stand together on this day and champion the rights of care-experienced children and young people across the UK, Ireland, and beyond, because they deserve to be celebrated and have their voices heard, on Care Day, and every day.
