PAISLEY-BASED electrical engineering group, Power One, is on course for turnover of £2.5 million in its first year following a raft of contract wins in the telecoms and utilities sectors.

The firm has landed a prestigious iBeacon project for 14 heritage and tourist destinations, including the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Willow Tearooms in Glasgow for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

The firm is also leading LED street lighting projects across Scotland and working with one of the UK’s largest cellular asset management companies, they plan to help deliver integrated cellular systems across the UK for Vodafone, Telefonica and EE to hefully embrace 4G and prepare for 5G.

Managing director Mark Ward is optimistic about the future. He said: “With 5G just around the corner we are preparing for the massive opportunity this presents and anticipate building turnover to £4m next year, then up to £6m the following year.”
