Fatberg Autopsy: Secrets of the Sewers

UNDER the streets of Britain’s cities an epidemic of fatbergs plagues the sewers. These monster blockages of congealed fat and human waste are a product of what people have flushed down our toilets and sinks. Presenter Rick Edwards joins a team of scientists and sewer workers to perform the first fatberg autopsy, taken from the biggest blockage found in the UK, at east London’s Abbey Mills Pumping Station. Pathology technician Carla Valentine and experts analyse the contents to discover the chemistry, biology and toxicology of this beast.

Rent for Sex: Ellie Undercover

CASES of “Rent for Sex”, where landlords offer rooms in their properties in exchange for “sexual favours”, are on the increase. Investigative journalist Ellie Flynn goes undercover to get a closer look at this issue. Armed with cameras, she meets landlords who post adverts to find out what they really expect in exchange for rent. Most of the individuals she encounters suggest what they’re doing is acceptable, but is this how the person taking up the offer would see it?

But, if you prefer to watch dramas the old-fashioned way, fear not because we’ll be drip-fed this Dutch thriller here every Tuesday for the next 10 weeks. The plot focuses on happily married Simon and Liv, who appear to have the perfect lives complete with a wonderful son, a beautiful home and successful careers. However, at a family reunion held to mark their offspring’s birthday, a surprise guest shakes things up.
