A NEW coffee roastery, cafe, bakery and training space is set to open in Glasgow at the end of the month.

Thomson’s Coffee Roasters, a 176 year old family business, will set up the ‘immersive coffee experience’ in the city’s Argyle Street Arches.

The Arches venue is being developed into a new multifaceted space. It will retain its community ethos and be home to a number of small local producers, including Platform, a weekly street food market.

Thomson’s Coffee Roastery will occupy the first of the seven adjoining archways where the former cafe used to be.

The cafe will let customers experience the roasting process alongside a 58 seater café and in-house bakery offering pizzas, breads and pastries all freshly baked on site.

Russell Jenkins of Thomson’s Coffee Roasters said: “Opening our first open plan coffee roastery, café, bakery and training centre in Glasgow is a great milestone for the business.”
