This week’s announcement that Glasgow has been chosen to host the global climate summit in 2020 is a monumental opportunity. COP26 will bring world leaders to Scotland’s biggest city to discuss the (lack of) progress toward meeting the COP21 Paris Climate Agreement in 2015.

When the Minister for Business wrote earlier in September to inform me that the Scottish Government had published new guidance on “human rights reputational risk management for investment decisions”, I was cautiously optimistic.
THE Westminster government has unleashed yet another tragedy on Glasgow. Three hundred and thirty asylum seekers are set to be forcibly evicted from their homes. Hundreds of vulnerable people will be made homeless, creating a humanitarian crisis.
‘FOR me, independence is about autonomy, allowing Scotland to meet success and failure on its own merit and not point an embittered finger of blame at anyone else”. These aren’t the words of a dyed-in-the-wool independence supporter, but rather a very recent convert who is no longer able to “tolerate a Tory Government prepared to treat devolution with blatant contempt”.
IF it wasn’t obvious before, these past few weeks have shown just how rotten the UK Government and its immigration systems are, in particular for those unfortunate enough to experience them.
WHAT we witnessed yesterday and on Wednesday in the Scottish Parliament, with the introduction of an emergency Continuity Bill, was unprecedented. It’s also immensely complex and worth clarifying why this is genuinely the beginnings of a constitutional crisis.
